SANGHAR: Internet lines reduced

Published October 2, 2003

SANGHAR, Oct 1: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has reduced the Internet lines from 31 to 3, as a result of which the Internet users are unable to get connected with the rest of the world.

There are more than 600 Internet users apart from several IT centres and Internet cafes in Sanghar.

Millions of rupees were spent to lay the optical fibre line which was supposed to be commissioned in July, but the PTCL has so far failed to put the line to use.

In small towns like Khadro, Jhol, Chak No.3, 22, and 25, Rukkan Buriro and Sinjhoro young people who do not have the facility to visit libraries use the Internet. Due to a reduced number of lines, now it has become very difficult for them to get connected with the rest of the world.—Correspondent
