KARACHI, Oct 1: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has distributed 500 sewing machines among deserving women, according to a statement released here on Wednesday.

The machines were lying in the stores of the CDGK for a long time and upon being informed of their presence, the Nazim immediately ordered the concerned officials to arrange for their distribution among the deserving women.

Addressing a ceremony held for the purpose, the Nazim said that society was faced with unemployment on a large scale and every household was upset economically.

He said that he was serving the citizens of Karachi with the cooperation of philanthropists. Mr Khan pointed out that dowry items were also being distributed among deserving families.—APP
