GUJAR KHAN: Prolonged power outages in Gujar Khan city and the Sohawa subdivision have made the lives of the residents miserable.

The residents complained that on Friday power supply remained suspended for 10 hours (from 6am to 4pm) in Takia Raheem Shah locality of Gujar Khan. Mohammad Aslam, a resident of the area, said they repeatedly called the local Iesco officials but got no response.

The situation in Sohawa and other areas of Gujar Khan tehsil was not different as power supply remained suspended for seven hours there.

The consumers said the SDOs and XEN of Iesco stayed in Rawalpindi and Islamabad leaving the consumers at the mercy of the local linemen.

The SDO and XEN never attended phone calls made by the consumers.

When contacted, Jamshaid Mahsood, a senior officer at the Iesco headquarters, promised action against the officials.
