LAHORE: Punjab Rangers carried out an operation against smugglers in Wagha sector on Friday and recovered 49 bottles of Indian liquor.

A news release issued by Ranger’s spokesman said that Rangers Jawans were on routine patrolling when they observed some suspicious movement along the Pakistan-India border near Wagha sector.

Rangers Jawans chased the movements and saw suspicious persons were busy in smuggling liquor. He said on seeing rangers, they resorted to firing and when ranger Jawans retaliated the firing, they fled towards the Indian border.

The rangers jawans captured some 49 bottles of Indian liquor and some other valuables from the scene.
