QUETTA: Security forces killed five suspected militants in Gwadar and Awaran districts of Balochistan on Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Frontier Corps Khan Wasey said forces launched an operation against miscreants in the aftermath of the attack at Pasni Radar Station in Gwadar district on Tuesday morning.

He said one miscreant involved in attacking Pasni Radar Station was killed and two were arrested by security forces during an exchange of fire.

"There is still an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists," he said. Security personnel also recovered arms from the arrested militants' possession. Two security personnel were also killed during the exchange of fire.

The spokesman of the defunct Baloch Republican Army (BRA) Sarbaz Baloch claimed responsibility for attacking Pasni Radar Station.

In another incident, security forces killed four suspected militants in Balochistan's Awaran district on Tuesday morning.

A security official — who declined to be named — told DawnNews that miscreants opened fire at a security forces' convoy in Mashkay area of Awaran. He said four assailants were killed when security forces responded with retaliatory firing.
