Bid to attack Pasni radar system

QUETTA: Suspected militants attacked the air traffic control radar in Pasni area of the Gwadar district late on Monday night.

Official sources said a group of militants reached the site of the air traffic control and attacked the radar system with rockets. However, personnel of the Airport Security Force guarding the radar station immediately took position and returned fire. Heavy exchange of fire continued for some time.

“The radar is safe,” Qazi Maqbool, general manger of the Civil Aviation Authority, South, told Dawn, adding that the radar had been temporarily switched off after the attack.

“No casualty was reported,” the sources said.

The air traffic was affected because of the radar’s closure.

@Ali People want Gwader port to be established, the Nawabs dont as it means prosperity and education for Baluchistan. By your logic, if Taliban attack MNAs, people are rejecting democracy. Terrorists are NOT the representatives of our people.

Apart from several others attacks by these militants, the latest ones are the recent killings of 20 workers and now this attack on air traffic control radar in Pasni. This is a clear allusion towards creating mayhem at a time when the Chinese President is in the country to sabotage the proposed CPEC. Pakistan would definitely foil these bids by establishing robust security system.

No body in Baluchistan want this Sardari system. Media created awareness among them every one want prosperity. They cant resist all because they are not well educated and organized. I met many of them they are pure Pakistani and love Pakistan more than us. What we need to do is to educate them invest on masses not on metro stations. If we think of tomorrow we should invest on generation rather than on some electric installations for dirty politics. Some time i feel ashamed, People live below poverty line no health care, no education, so law and order and we are making metro stations and fly overs in Islamabad.
