GWADAR: Doctors associated with government and private hospitals observed a token strike in Turbat on Monday in protest against the kidnapping of Director Health Balochistan, Dr Amir Bakhsh Baloch.

The official was kidnapped by armed men from Sariab Crossing area last week when he was going to office.

The doctors at the government and private hospitals boycotted outdoor patients departments for two hours in response to a call given by the Pakistan Medical Association.

Meanwhile, the lawyers’ community also boycotted court proceedings in Gwadar town on the appeal of the Gwadar Bar Association against the kidnapping of Dr Baloch.

They gathered outside the court building and raised slogans against the government and condemned the incident.

They urged the government to ensure Dr Baloch’s safe return as soon as possible.

They said it was deplorable that a senior official could not be freed from kidnappers despite the passage of five days.
