KARACHI: A private bank in Korangi was stormed on Wednesday by four robbers who took away Rs1 million after overpowering the two security guards posted there, according to the area police.

It was 10:45am when the four robbers riding two motorbikes pulled up at the HBL branch in Korangi-6, said an official at the Awami Colony police station.

SHO Ghazanfar added that the robbers snatched weapons from the two guards posted there and collected Rs1 million from the cash counter at gunpoint.

The officer said the guards did not put up any resistance as the robbers took away their weapons along with the cash.

As the investigation was under way, the police said the video recording system installed in the branch was intact and that could provide them clues to the robbers.
