KARACHI: Top seed Nasir Iqbal and fourth seed Danish Atlas Khan booked their places in the final of the 11th Chief of the Naval Staff International Squash Championship here at the PN Roshan Khan-Jahangir Khan squash complex after cruising through their last-four clashes on Monday.

Nasir, who won the gold medal at the 2013 Asian Team Championship, justified his billing by bringing the winning streak of holder Farhan Mehbob to a halt. He took just 25 minutes to wrap up the match 11-7, 11-5, 11-5.

Farhan had removed third seed Farhan Zaman in the first round and seventh seed Shahjahan Khan in the quarter-finals respectively.

Danish, having represented the country at back-to-back Asian Games — Guangzhou in 2010 and Incheon in 2014 — disposed of eighth seed Mohammad Saquib Yousuf 12-10, 11-8, 11-4. The match lasted 35-minutes.

Danish had prevailed over sixth seed Khawaja Adil Maqbool while Saquib upset second seed Aamir Atlas Khan in the quarters the other day.

Results:

Semi-finals: Nasir Iqbal bt Farhan Mehboob 11-7, 11-5, 11-5; Danish Atlas Khan bt Mohammad Saquib Yousuf 12-10, 11-8, 11-4.

Tuesday’s final: Nasir Iqbal v Danish Atlas Khan (5pm).
