LAHORE: Middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood has been ruled out of the Bangladesh ODI series after a recurrence of a fracture in his left arm, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) statement said.
All-rounder Saad Nasim, who has played three T20s for Pakistan, has been selected as Maqsood's replacement.
Maqsood was ruled out the series after a medical examination determined recurrence of the fracture. He had complained of acute pain during the first day of Pakistan cricket team's training camp at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Newly-appointed chief selector Haroon Rashid, after consulting PCB chief Shahrayar Khan, selected Nasim.
Nasim is already a part of Pakistan's T20 squad for the upcoming series which starts on April 17.

Great, he is a useless player. Better to replace him with a youngster.

Sohaib is a mediocre player. Look at his performance in world cup, more alarmingly the way he played and got outs. It does not matter he is injured !! anyone replacing him can do at least same as he would do. Sohaib may .... i said may play some flat bat shots against low ranked teams on flat tracks but he lacked the talent and technique required to face reasonable bowling.

Get ready for the Bangla Boys .. They missed out on the World Cup due to ICC favouring India but will for sure win the T20 WC next year.. :D :D ... and if they lose to Pakistan, be prepared to face the reasons they give ... anything but Cricket :P

I was wondering right from the beginning why he was selected for the Bangladesh tour. He should have been dropped for his poor performance in the World Cup. Now nature has taken care of it. I wish him good health and recovery but I am glad like so many others that he will not be going to Bangladesh with the Pakistan team.

They should have added a fast bowling allrounder preferably Hammad Azzam. Hammad has improved his bowling considerably in the past year.

@kash ... Only in One day.....he scored 168 runs in his first test match and played only 3. One of the top performer of domestic T20 but selectors didn't consider.... This is totally injustice.

Duas for Sohaib Maqsood that he bounces back with a full and healthy recovery, Ameen.
It's extremely vital for the PCB to look into how the Americans train their baseball athletes in order to prevent such injuries. Baseball and cricket are similar, and so if Pakistan's cricket coaches study and implement the strength training, weight resistance and aerobics along with yoga or Pilates that American baseball fitness program encompasses, there should be very few if any injuries.
