PTI, JI form poll alliance in Mardan

MARDAN: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and its coalition partner, Jamaat-i-Islami have decided to jointly contest the coming local government elections at the district level.

An announcement to this effect was made at a meeting of district office-bearers of PTI and JI at the Jamia Islamia Tafhim-ul-Quran here on Sunday, according to a statement.

PTI district president and MNA Ali Mohammad Khan, district general secretary and MPA Iftikhar Mashwani, MNA Mujahid Khan, JI district emir Dr Ataur Rahman, ex-MPA Fazal Rabani, Saeed Akhtar and other local leaders attended the meeting.

The leaders said that since PTI and JI were coalition partners at the provincial level and had better understanding of working together, they had decided to contest the LG polls jointly to serve the people in a better way.

The two parties would hold another meeting today (Monday) to evolve a strategy for the forthcoming polls.

After a useless struggle to malign the assemblies PTi is joining them. PTI and JI alliance is a natural as both are rightwing parties and are implementing their agenda in text books and schools. By partnering JI, PTI would once again solidify TTP and other rightwing hardliner support. As the time goes by PTI would come out of the cocoon of a different party but a typical rightwing party.

@メラジェ_JAPAN U TURN is good for Pakistan. Anyone who wants to bring change should join the system. Staying away means you are silent and quiet. In politics, please come in the open and say things which appeal to the people of Pakistan. I prefer they should raise the question of Pakistan's relationship to USA. This relationship is akin to master and servant relationship i.e. USA is a master and Pakistan is a slave.

Good Job to unite yourselves to serve the people of Pakistan. I am not a supporter of these parties but I love to see parties form coalitions and understanding to fight against the corrupt parties like PPP, MQM and PML-N along with other left wing and right wing parties. I also hope this cooperation will extend to Karachi to defeat the PPP & MQM forced monopoly on the people of the city - We cry for freedom and justice with honor.
