MIANWALI: A condemned prisoner who had murdered his two relatives over a family dispute was hanged here on Tuesday in the Central Jail.

The convict, Syed Hubdar Husain Shah, a resident of Chidroo, had shot dead his two relatives in 2000 and was handed down death sentence on two counts by the sessions judge.

His black warrants were issued a few days ago and was scheduled to be hanged on March 25.

But his execution was suspended after an application was filed before the court on March 24 stating a compromise with the victims’ heirs was in progress.

The relatives of Shah told Dawn that despite hectic efforts they could not pay the Diyat amount demanded by the families of the murdered men.

On being informed that compromise could not be reached, the court ordered the execution of the convict.

The body was handed over to his family.
