LAHORE: Police continue with raids daily by arresting suspects in the two youngsters’ lynching case and a dozen more were taken into custody from Youhanabad and other nearby localities on Thursday.

Three to four police teams of CIA have been permanently deputed on the entry and exit points of Youhanabad to nab the youngsters after verifying their identities.

The situation was said to be tense in Youhanabad as a large number of families of the Christian community had migrated from the area to avoid police’s search operation or raids.

The Youhanabad locality is wearing a deserted look due to search operations and arrests. Most of the shops and houses were found locked since the two suicide attacks.

When contacted senior police officers of Investigation Wing refused to comment about the number of arrests and any other related information saying that the matter was sub judice.

However, a police officer requesting anonymity said the police had taken into custody 60 suspects mostly youngsters in the cases lodged against them for lynching two innocent youths, damaging government property and for harassing a woman car rider.

He said no arrest was made during the last 24 hours as some Christians had moved the court against the police raids.
