KARACHI, Sept 24: The Second International Mechanical Engineering Congress will commence on Sept 26 at Institution of Engineers Pakistan.

This was announced by President IEP M.P. Gangwani here on Wednesday. He said that the theme of the three-day congress would be “Multidimensional Role of Mechanical Engineers”.

Some 24 papers would be presented during the six technical sessions, including engineering education, design, method, energy resources, biomedic engineering, mechatronics and material conservation.

The congress would be attended by delegates from all over Pakistan as well as from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Tajikistan, he added.

The IEP President said that engineering education and professional development needed utmost attention by all stake- holders in all the developing countries. He said that there was an obvious need for regional and international cooperation in these fields and that the congress would provide an opportunity in this direction.—APP
