NELSON (New Zealand): Opening batsman Imrul Kayes is being flown to Australia to replace injured Bangladesh opener Anamul Haque, bdnews24.com reported on Thursday.

Anamul was injured in the match against Scotland at Saxton Oval here on Thursday, a game Bangladesh won by six wickets.

BCB media manager Rabeed Imam said after the match that Anamul had suffered a shoulder dislocation.

The 28-year-old left-handed Imrul, with experience of 53 ODIs under his belt, was playing for Khulna in the National Cricket League at the time Bangladesh were chasing a mighty Scotland score of 319 in Nelson.

Imrul told reporters that he got a call from chief selector Farooq Ahmed in the afternoon, telling him about the decision.

A regular in the Bangladesh squad during the 2011 World Cup, Imrul was kept out of the reckoning for the current tournament.

He was the only Bangladeshi player to have been judged the man-of-the-match in two successive outings for his scintillating performance against England and the Netherlands in the World Cup 2011.

Imrul was scheduled to leave for Australia on Thursday night.
