JHANG: Three siblings -- two brother and their sister-- were burnt alive, while their parents and four other passengers suffered serious burns when a van caught fire on Jhang-Layyah Road near Rashidpur on Tuesday night.

The family was returning from Jhang to Layyah after attending a marriage ceremony by the van that suddenly caught fire.

As a result, the 13-year-old girl and her two minor brothers aged five and three, respectively, were burnt alive.


Parents, four others suffer serious burns


In the incident, besides the deceased children’s parents, two women and as many men also suffered burns.

The locals rushing to the to the scene managed to shift the injured to the nearest Garh Mahraja hospital.

Officials were trying to ascertain whether the blaze was caused by patrol leakage or LPG cylinder blast in the van.
