FAISALABAD, Sept 20: The local yarn traders observed a strike on Saturday immediately after their colleague had been robbed of Rs500,000 in cash.

Two armed men plundered Rs500,000 in cash from yarn dealer Muhammad Aslam when he was on his way home after drawing the amount from a bank. The yarn dealer immediately informed the area police, who allegedly reached the spot quite late.

No sooner had the news spread in the market, the yarn dealers assembled on road to protest the police’s apathy. They demonstrated at the Montgomery Bazaar, demanding the police higher-ups that the culprits should be arrested without delay.

When contacted, SP (city) Tauqeer Hayat said the Rail Bazaar police SHO had been directed to arrest the robbers at the earliest. A case has been registered.
