KOHAT: Three persons including a proclaimed offender were killed while a girl was injured in deferent incidents in parts of Kohat on Thursday, police said.

They said that Shakeel Hussain was killed in the name of honour by Waheed Hussain in Sherkot area on Hangu Road.

The sister of Waheed was injured in the incident. Police arrested Waheed along with the weapon.

In another incident, Mir Ali, Mahbood Ali and Liquat Ali shot dead an outlaw identified as Lisan Ali in Ustarzai Payan, police said. They said that the assailants managed to escape.

Similarly, Ibrar Shah was killed over a family dispute by his relatives in Fateh Khankhel Banda of Lachi tehsil. Police registered cases in Ustarzai and Lachi police stations and started investigations.

Meanwhile, the decomposed body of 12-year-old Mohammad Sohail was found in the mountains of Khadarkhel area of Lachi tehsil. The deceased had gone missing on February 1, 2015.

SECURITY: District Police Officer Mohammad Sohaib Ashraf visited KDA area on Thursday and inspected security arrangements at 54 educational institutions and hostels.

During the visit, the DPO was informed that there were 36 schools, two colleges and 16 private guest houses, being used as hostels, in KDA. He directed police to check security arrangements at all hostels and advise the owners to adopt the police security manual at the earliest.

The DPO also directed the officials to take legal action against the private hostels and guest houses that were operating without approval.

The local police were directed to proceed against the schools and colleges that didn’t take appropriate security measures.

Police were told to conduct patrolling and search operations within and outside KDA and carry out snap checking at the entry and exit points of the posh locality.
