SBP unveils Rs20 commemorative coin

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday unveiled Rs20 commemorative coin to mark “Pakistan-China Year of Friendly Exchange 2015”.

During a ceremony which was also attended by Vice Consul General Chinese Consulate Dr Mu Yong Peng, Chinese media and dignitaries, SBP Governor Ashraf Mahmood Wathra said, “In the financial sector, we find footprints of our friendly relations over a long period of time. The most recent among these is the establishment of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.”

The coin, which is the third of its kind on the subject of Pak-China relations, weighs 10 grams with 75 per cent copper and 25pc nickel. Its shape is round with serration on the edge and a diametre of 27.5 mm.

The first two coins, of Rs10 and Rs20, were issued in 2009 and 2011. Published in Dawn January 31st, 2015
