QUETTA: An abducted child was recovered and two kidnappers were arrested after an encounter with police on Wednesday, police said.

The suspects were captured after they got injured in the exchange of fire in Asgharabad area of New Sariab on the outskirts of Quetta.

Bilal was kidnapped from Satellite Town on Jan 1, they said. “The kidnappers approached the boy’s family and demanded Rs30 million for his release,” SSP Asad Raza said. But the family refused to pay the ransom and informed the police about the matter.

Police raided a house in Asgharabad, but the kidnappers opened fire on them. Two kidnappers received injuries when police returned fire. The injured kidnappers, Rehmat and Jamil, were taken into custody. Bilal was recovered unharmed.
