The Rangers officials said that the Indian BSF, violating the ceasefire accord, started shelling at 2.20am on Sunday which continued till 3:50am.

In the shelling after a week-long lull, the BSF targeted the civilian population. However, several of the mortar shells that landed in the fields did not explode.
