Markandey Katju is a former chairman of the Indian Press Council. Last week, he took India by surprise (pleasant or unpleasant, it’s up to you to decide) by suggesting on his Facebook page that the drop-dead gorgeous gal Katrina Kaif be made the next president of India.

He reasoned, “Since you must have someone, why not vote for a beautiful face. At least you will get some momentary happiness looking at her face in the media. She should be made the next president of India but on the condition that she sings Sheila ki Jawani on her inauguration.”

Of course, Markandey K wrote that in jest. However, there’s method to his madness. Also, he perhaps insinuates that the current president of his country is not a sight for sore eyes. Wink!
