KARACHI: Woman commits suicide

KARACHI, Sept 17: A woman committed suicide in her house in Orangi Extension on Wednesday.

Police said that Rukhsana, 16, ended her life by hanging from the ceiling fan in her parents house on Wednesday.

The victim had separated from her husband a few days ago, police added. Her body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination.

ACCIDENTS: A speeding water tanker knocked down a man in Site on Wednesday.

Police said that Imtiaz, 35, was on his motorcycle (KAA-3143) when he was knocked down by a speeding water tanker near Site Chowrangi. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police claimed to have arrested the errant driver and impounded the vehicle. The victim was a resident of New Karachi, police added.

In another accident, Husain Dad, 47, died on the National Highway on Wednesday.

Police said that a speeding truck (JT-0737) hit a Suzuki Alto near Baba Bhori Mazar on the National Highway. His body was shifted to the JPMC for autopsy.
