LAHORE: Punjab women with 3,048 points won the first National Women Pentathlon Championship at the Punjab Stadium here on Wednesday.
Sindh finished the championship as runners-up with 2,423 points.
Balochistan scored 2,385 points to remain third followed by Islamabad who managed 2,312 points.
Khyber Pakhtunkhawa finished last with 2,276 points in the two-day event.
The championship was organised by the Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF) in collaboration with the Punjab Sports Board.
Prize distribution ceremony will be held on Thursday.
Punjab’s Farhat Batool, who won the final round 1600m race and shooting event with the timing of 6.49, was declared the best player of the tournament.
The second individual position went to Deeba Bhatti of Sindh. She spent nine minutes and 47 seconds to complete her event.
Sheeba Basheer of Balochistan, who completed the competition with the timing of 11.36, remained third in the final round. Earlier, Farhat Batool defeated Roshna Khan, Sheeba Basheer beat Hina Arooj and Deeba Bhatti toppled Amna Kalsoom in the semi-final round.
