QUETTA, Sept 16: Balochistan Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani said on Tuesday that the policy of the federal and provincial governments regarding the Gwadar project was to give first priority to the interest of the native people.

Speaking to Nazims and elders in Gwadar, he said the apprehensions in the minds of the people related to the project were baseless.

He said the local people’s rights would be protected and justice would be provided to them. He assured the elders and elected representatives on behalf of President Gen Pervez Musharraf and the federal government that all rights of Gwadar’s people would be guaranteed.
