Aamir Khan sends legal notice to Pakistani websites over 'fake interview'

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has issued a legal notice to a handful of Pakistani websites for running a 'fabricated' interview of the actor regarding his film. The interview featured questions on religion with reference to Khan's latest release PK, reports The Economic Times.
Anand Desai, Aamir's legal representative who sent the notice on behalf of the actor, said he was wrongly attributed to the interview.
Desai shared: “Mr Aamir Khan was shocked to find an interview attributed to him on several Pakistani websites in relation to his latest film PK. He has never given such an interview. It is clearly a fabrication by someone trying to impersonate him, done with the intent of drawing visitors to their website, and is defamatory to our client.”

He added: "The impersonation is a very serious infringement of our client’s rights, and we will take legal recourse. Mr Khan will be filing a criminal complaint with the Cybercrime Cell, Mumbai Police after he returns to Mumbai."
Currently, the Dhoom 3 leading man is in the United States of America.
Most websites have managed to remove the post after news of the legal notice became known. The post on Pakistan Ki Baatein now gives an error message. The website's Facebook page describes itself as a site about "latest media trends in Pakistan".
The short bio reads: "Along with media, we are also blogging on positive topics regarding education, people etc in Pakistan except politics. Our aim is to show positive side of Pakistan. We will share every topic of media whether it will be from Pakistan drama industry, Pakistan film industry or from Bollywood that is in gossips of Pakistanis."

Though the origin of this interview is still up in the air, it was evidently picked up by a number of websites. The most common title of the interview was '5 questions Aamir Khan answered about PK.'
Talking to Dawn.com, Khuzaima Ismail, who is the CEO and founder of the website, Pakistan Ki Baatein, clarifies: "Although the interview was taken down from our website later than most, we are not the ones who fabricated it. I just shared the news from ebuzz.pk and also gave credit to the website."

It appears to be a fake interview. Rightly AK's council have sought legal action against such websites trying to make money on star's name. We should appreciate the efforts and daring attitude of an actor who unlike others does not involve in making money rather tries to address deep rooted issues of the people. This time he has confronted very powerful sections with vested interest in religion, and he & director must be appreciated instead of painting him as being negative.

Aamir Khan is a patriot Indian, and all Indians are proud of him.
There could be patriots amongst minority community in Pakistan, if there was tolerant climate towards the minorities, and if they were not persecuted.

Few Idiots have tried to ruin Amir's & Hirani's genuine effort of developing Solidarity between Pakistan & India while the subject is pure Humanity and that has nothing to do with any religion. That proves again that social media has no or lesser credibility for any news but a wide spread impact due to immature users. The maker of that post is definitely a "Wrong Number".

First time when I saw it posted on facebook, I at once understood it was a lie. So AK people here are really not that stupid to take it as a fact. This is surely done by someone who wants to blow air to the fire that is already surrounding you, i.e, by protests. This is a hypocrite and criminal human nature to take advantage of the other's crisis.

This interview was shared by many people in India.... Does this website even know what a mockery of a beautiful message it created ... I am not blaming Pakistan coz any website around the globe could have done this in any manner.. and I would recommend my fellow Indians also to refrain generalizing the issue ... Majority of Indian population is Hindu so its obvious to have such story focusing most on Hindu culture as per Indian demography. Its not partiality. Why would a Pakistani make a movie showing Hindu culture and its negative points. It will not reflect Pakistani society. Its as simple as that. Why so much hue and cry. Pakistanis and Indians except their govt are loyal to each other.

Back in the old days in the bollywood movies pakistan bashing were common and it was an instant box office hit. with pk, hope this aman ki asha in bollywood continues. pakistan government should take the 'fake interview' guys to task as a gesture for support of pro-pakistaniyat in the movie pk.love you aamir,from pakistan.

The actor was in for a shock recently when he read some websites carrying a fake interview with reference to his latest film PK, credited to him.
The interview carried by Pakistani websites in the name of religion and Islam was a fabricated one in attempt to impersonate him.
As soon as Aamir got to know about this, his legal team took a swift action and sent notices to all these websites. In fact, the notice was sent to them within 48 hours of them learning about this.

@Sawera - Good joke. Do you know that the Chief Ministers of at least 7 states in India are Christians. Even Kerala C.M. is a Christian where Christian population in only 22%.
