JUI-F to table resolution in NA to de-seat Imran

ISLAMABAD: Seeking to de-seat Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan from his National Assembly membership in view of his perpetual absence from the House's sessions, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) on Monday decided to move a resolution against the cricketer-turned-politician in the Parliament.
"Our wedding gift to Imran Khan will be de-seating him from his NA membership," said JUI-F Central Information Secretary Hafiz Hussain Ahmed while speaking to Dawn.
Last week, Khan tied the knot with DawnNews anchor Reham Khan in a low-key ceremony.

As mandated by the Constitution, no member of the Parliament can remain absent for 40 consecutive sessions. In a case where a member is absent for 40 sessions, any member of the Parliament can bring attention of the NA speaker to the motion to unseat the member.
It may be mentioned that Khan has remained absent from the house for 41 consecutive days — his latest being today's session.
JUI-F MNA Naeema Khishwar has been directed by party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to table the resolution in the NA.
Fazl and Imran have exchanged heated words on numerous occasions. Tensions between the two political leaders had reached a new level after the May 2013 general elections.

IK is not without faults, but as he said he did not want to marry before traditional 40 day mourning period was over. However, once there was a smear and character assasination campaign against Reham, he was forced to take action.
Many people are upset over the wedding for reasons of their own. But you see people partying, full houses to watch PK etc. IK has criticized opponents for their politics, but I have not heard him getting personal about opponents' private lives.
As far as the 'gift' is concerned, it just shows how sour and angry JUI is. Though he should be de-seated in accordance with the law.

Pakistan has changed for the worse so much that it may not be seen as India's sibling. The religious fanatics are ruling the day. Imran is a fine man, pride of Pakistan and a good Muslim politician. If they can't accept him, they won't accept many of their brethren. What hope Pakistan has to be a respectable democratic nation?

Words can't express my dislike for Maulana. However, what a betrayal by IK to his constituents. They elected this guy to represent them in the National Assembly.
Just one questions for IK and his fans, what has he done for his constituents in the last 1.5 year? Why should people re- elect him? Can someone shed some light on his public and private track records???

Either JUI(F) or dawn's reporter didnt read it through, the requirement to de-seat is "no member of the Parliament can remain absent for 40 consecutive sessions" and IK has been absent for 41 consecutive days, there is a huge difference between 40 Parliamentary sessions and 40 days. If this report states correctly that requirement for de-seating is 40 sessions then JUI(F) are bluffing as usual to malign their opponents while hiding their ugly face behind religion's garb.

@Anil Khan, who gave you this wrong information. First of all there are no cars given to parlimentarians only ministers get cars. Secondly why isn't the speaker accepting their (PTI's) resignations. They will get their salaries as long as their resignations are not accepted. It is the government that is creating this mess.

Just showing a paper and sending it over without following up the process IK just made us a fool. He never completed the process hence he never resigned.

Yes. No body is above law. After all when such laws would be applied when flagrant violations are being committed. The timid and coward ruling slot is conniving at such infringements. IK who does not care of norms , principal , rules and ethical indulging all the times in distortions n telling lies must be proceeded against and deseated.
