QUETTA: Three suspected militants, including a suicide bomber, were arrested by security forces in Quetta on Sunday morning.

A security official, who requested anonymity, told Dawn that the forces acted on a tip-off and took three militants, including a suicide bomber in custody during a raid in Hazar Ganji area of Quetta.

Security forces also recovered suicide jackets and large number of arms and ammunition from the militants. However, the identity of the arrested could not be revealed.

During interrogation it emerged that the militants were planning to target vital national installations and security forces in Quetta.

In Balochistan, security forces have intensified raids against militants operating in Quetta and other parts of the province after the tragic incident of Peshawar. Security forces and police have so far detained dozens of suspected militants during various raids.
