LAHORE: The arrival and departure of buses under the Pak-India Dosti Service have been limited to Wagah border because of terrorism threats.

Passengers leaving for India (New Delhi) and those returning are being dropped at Wagah border. Passengers arriving from India are also being dropped at Wagah because the PTDC authorities have shifted the entire bus operation to its sub-office at the border.

Previously, the passengers used to be dropped at the final destination in Gulberg area of Lahore and the city office in Nankana Sahib district headquarters.

Similarly, those travelling to India have been asked to board the bus from Wagah.

“The entire bus operation (arrival / departure) is being done at the border,” security official Akram deputed by the PTDC at its bus terminal in Gulberg, told Dawn on Tuesday. He said he had been informed about the new arrangement by the PTDC’s Lahore office.
