LONDON: British boxer Amir Khan on Sunday said that he will visit Pakistan to show solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attack on a school in Peshawar in which 132 children were killed, UK media reported.

“I will be going to Pakistan between Christmas and New Year,” he revealed.

“Talking about this stuff could be threatening for me, but I just want to speak the truth and tell people what is happening is wrong.

“I think it’s more important now than ever to go over there. I think it will send a statement to a lot of people that Amir Khan is going there to make a difference. I want it to be a better country. It’s just a shame – I cannot believe how sick some people are,” he said.

Khan recently donated a pair of £30,000 ($47,007) shorts to the Army Public School where the attack took place.

Khan wore the shorts, featuring a waistband made from 24-carat gold thread, in a decisive victory over American Devon Alexander in Las Vegas which helped him retain the World Boxing Council (WBC) silver welterweight title.
