LAKKI MARWAT: Activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl on Saturday took out separate rallies in Naurang town to condemn the militant attack on innocent students and teachers of the Army Public School, Peshawar.

The PPP activists rally started from the coach stand and ended at old railway crossing.

A large number of activists and people from different walks of life took part in the rally, which was led by party’s district president Iqbal Hussain.

On this occasion, Mr Hussain strongly condemned the barbaric incident and asked the government to eliminate terrorists at all costs.

“The entire nation and the political and religious parties stand behind the government and armed forces, and now there should be no confusion about taking action against terrorists,” he maintained.

The PPP leader said that it was now the government’s responsibility to rid the country of the menace of terrorism.

Earlier in the day, the JUI-F activists also took out a procession and held a demonstration in Naurang Bazaar to express solidarity with the bereaved families of APS students who lost lives in the Dec 16 attack. Led by tehsil chief of JUI-F Mufti Ziaullah, the activists were carrying banners inscribed with condemnation of the massacre of schoolchildren and teachers by terrorists.

Addressing the gathering, the party leaders said that the killing of innocent children was like the killing of humanity.

They said that the government, opposition, religious leaders and people should come on one page to eliminate terrorism from the country.
