DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Three policemen were injured when an improved explosive device (IED) went off near a police van at the Kulachi tehsil here on Friday.
According to the police, the device was planted along the road in the Hattala area of Kulachi tehsil. The IED exploded when the mobile van was passing the area. As a result, three policemen, including van driver Sher Jan, and constables, Asif and Mumtaz, were injured. The vehicle was also damaged in the blast.
The injured policemen were shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Dera Ismail Khan, for treatment.
The police cordoned off the area soon after the incident and started search for the attackers. However, no one was arrested till filing of this report.
