ISLAMABAD: The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) on Thursday announced winter vacation in all public and private educational institutions of the capital from December 22.

Apparently the decision has been taken due to prevailing situation.

“Winter vacation in Islamabad will be observed in all public and private schools from December 22 to 31,” said a notification issued on Friday.

According to Federal Directorate of Education’s annual calendar, schools and colleges were supposed to observe vacations from December 26 to Dec 31.

Private School Network (PSN), an association of all private schools, also agreed to follow CADD’s notification.

However, it said private schools would resume classes from January 5, instead of January 2.

“It’s a positive decision and we will follow it. After Peshawar incident, we have been facing security issues,” said PSN President Dr Afzal Babur.
