GUJRANWALA: The Punjab government on Thursday has given approval for the construction of a flyover at Lohianwala bypass intersection and widening of all the roads around it and allocated Rs1 billion for the purpose.

The city district government had sent a proposal to the Punjab government regarding a flyover at Lohianwala bypass intersection along with widening of all the roads around it to avoid traffic jams. The Punjab government sought a report from the planning and development department before giving the approval.

OUTAGES: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) reduced loadshedding on all 11KV independent industrial feeders on the Ministry of Water and Power’s directive.

Gepco Chief Executive Zahoor Ahmad Chohan said four-hour loadshedding on industrial 11KV feeders, four to six hours loadshedding on urban domestic feeders and eight hours loadshedding on rural feeders was being conducted. He said the government wanted to boost the industries with continuous supply of electricity.

OGRA: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) took on Thursday serious notice of overcharging on petroleum products by filling stations and shopkeepers and directed district administration to launch crackdown on them.

Ogra sent a memorandum to district administration directing stern action against filing station owners and shopkeepers who were selling the petroleum products on higher prices despite of decrease in prices by the government.
