MURREE: The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) has opened a youth development centre in Murree.

Zunaira Cheema, the administrative programme officer of the project, told Dawn that PEEF was set up to provide scholarships and monetary assistance to talented and deserving students to help them pursue quality education.

Under the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, who is also the chairman of PEEF, the newly-constructed block of Punjab House in Murree has been allocated for the youth development centre.

The centre is being used for boarding and training of talented students and teachers.

According to Ms Cheema, almost 3,920 students would be provided training in different skills.

The participants included students from all the boards of intermediate and secondary education in the Punjab.
