Hyderabad traffic

Published December 12, 2014

THIS is to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned the poor performance of the traffic police in Hyderabad.

Constables could be clearly seen taking bribes at the Gul Centre exchange and the agriculture complex roundabouts from Suzuki drivers for overloading by allowing passengers on rooftops.

Frequent traffic jams also have become a routine during school hours. These could be controlled by directing the schools at Autobahn road to have different school timings with a minimum gap of at least 10 minutes to adjust the huge influx of traffic.

Further, heavy vehicles may not be allowed to enter Autobahn road during school hours.

Breaking the one-way has become a norm at Hyderabad. Heavy fines should be imposed on law-breakers who not only cause traffic jams but also put the lives of others at risk.

The traffic police may request the district government for immediate repairs of roads at all important junctions, e.g Giddu Chowk and Sarfaraz Incline.

Motorcycles without silencers should be confiscated as these are a cause of severe noise pollution. Further, the use of helmets should be made mandatory.
