CHAKWAL: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to visit Chakwal on December 17. According to sources, the prime minister would land at Balkassar Interchange where he would address a large public gathering.

He will announce a number of development projects including awarding the status of district to Talagang which is currently a tehsil of Chakwal district.

Mr Sharif is also expected to lay the foundation stone of Balkassar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway.

He is also supposed to announce a campus of University of Gujrat for Talagang.

“The tentative dates of PM’s visit are December 11, 13 or 17 but most probably he would come on December 17,” an official told Dawn.

Talking to Dawn MNA Tahir Iqbal and MNA Sardar Mumtaz Khan confirmed the expected visit of prime minister but they said the date had not been finalised as yet.
