KARACHI: Unseeded Naureen Farhan created quite a stir when she shocked second seed Zehra Bashir straight to reach women’s singles last four in the three-day Islamia Club ranking table tennis tournament which started at the club premises here on Friday.

Naureen, who won her first-round match against Maria Farooq 11-1, 11-1, 11-0, later sent Zehra packing 11-8, 11-9, 11-7 to reach the semis.

Other three seeded players — top seed Abeera, third seed Haleema Ali and fourth seed Hareem Anwar — completed the quartet.

Meanwhile, the men’s singles, which has a draw of 64-man, also got into action.

The tournament, which serves as Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA) annual ranking, is being held in men’s and women’s singles.
