LAHORE: The 48th convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) held at Aiwan-i-Iqbal here on Monday.

At least 430 doctors were awarded FCPS degrees, 89 MCPS, nine MCPS for Health Professional Education, two DCPS degrees and one gold medal.

Former CPSP Prof Dr Khawaja Sadiq Hussain, council members, senior medics and students attended the convocation.

Prof Khawaja Sadiq said the college had produced medical professionals with skills of international standards which ensured tremendous progress in the field of medicine and surgery in the country.

CPSP president Prof Zafarullah Chaudhry congratulated the successful candidates for their achievements.

He said the top priority of the college had been the provision of quality training and high value research to its trainees.

He said the development and extension in the infrastructure and provision of high-tech facilities at various CPSP regional centres across the country had helped students in their academic, training and research pursuits.

He said the rigorous training of fellows had resulted in high remunerations to the fellows across the world.

Highlighting the CPSP efforts on the national and international level, Prof Chaudhry said the state-of-the-art e-log system of the college had gained distinction at the international level.

He said the incumbent council of the CPSP had provided the best benefits of the medical profession to doctors and surgeons at the international level in a way that had no precedent.
