TOBA TEK SINGH: Scores of people blocked traffic on Faisalabad, Jhang, Shorkot Cantonment and Chichawatni roads and also shut railway level-crossing in Shahbaz Sharif Chowk on Friday in protest against police for ‘torturing to death’ a murder accused.

Sultan told reporters his brother Shahid was arrested a few days ago in the murder case of his wife Nasreen. He said police had on Friday got his signatures on an application written against Sub-Inspector Saeed Bhinder in which the SI was charged with kidnapping of his brother.

He said a case had also been registered against the SI on the same application. He claimed police tortured to death his brother and now a drama of his disappearance was concocted by registering the so-called FIR on his application.

No policemen was found at the police station concerned. While Rajana SHO Jamshed Chishti reached the spot and claimed that police were already in search of SI Saeed Bhinder who had shifted Shahid to some unknown place.

He said a case had been registered against the accused SI.

The protesters continued blocking roads and railway level-crossing till the filing of this report late in the night.
