Pakistan netball girls team impress on Singapore tour

KARACHI: Pakistan junior girls netball team, which returned home here this week from Singapore, displayed a spirited game during a three-match series which they lost 2-1 against the hosts.

The girls set on the tour of Singapore on the 11th of this month for advanced netball training there besides playing a three-match series against the hosts from Nov 13-15.

Singapore, despite being a more experienced netball team, found tough opposition in Pakistan girls who put up a decent fight in all the matches, winning one and losing two in the end.

Pakistan junior team also played matches against various junior netball teams in Singapore and impressed with their performance.

The tour helped Pakistan girls acquire good international netball experience and valuable exposure. They also participated in advanced netball training from leading Singapore coaches which will surely serve them well for a long time to come.

Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) secretary general Mudassar Arain, while commenting on the performance of the junior girls team, said it was wonderful to see them playing so well in Singapore.

He hoped that they will soon earn a medal for Pakistan by competing in international events.
