Duststorm, drizzle hit Khairpur

SUKKUR, Sept 7: Duststorm in Khairpur, Kotdiji, Nara and other parts of Khairpur district, which was followed by light rainfall in Nara Taluka and Kotdiji, paralyzed life in the district on Sunday.

Due to the duststorm, dozens of trees, hoardings and electricity poles were uprooted, which disrupted the power supply to the entire district.

The duststorm started around 6pm in Khairpur, Nara Taluka, Kotdiji and other parts of interior Sindh and continued till 9pm.

A Hesco official told this correspondent that a major fault developed in the grid and some electricity poles were uprooted, which caused disturbance in the entire district.

He said that Hesco staff was busy trying to rectify the fault, and added that they were trying to fix the uprooted poles.
