ISLAMABAD: More than 443 policemen will be deployed on different routes of Muharram processions to avoid any inconvenience to the road users in the city.

The traffic police at a meeting finalised the traffic arrangements during the Muharram processions.

According to the traffic police plan, a procession will be taken out on Muharram 8 from Jamia Murtaza, G-9/4, which will terminate at Jamia Imam Sadiq at G-9/2.

During the procession, Rohtas Road, G-9, turn Kashmir Highway, G-10 double road, G-10/3-4 signal, Swan Road near police colony G-9/1 and Ibne Seena Road will remain closed.

On Muharram 9, a procession will be taken out from Markazi Imambargah G-6/2, which will end at G-6/2. During the procession, The portion of Fazl-i-Haq Road from Polyclinic to Kalsoom Plaza will remain closed.

The 7th Avenue from F-6 Chowk to Khayaban-i-Suhrawardy Road, and Fazal-i-Haq Road from China Chowk to Kalsoom Plaza will also be closed for traffic.

Khushal Khan Road and Sadar Road from Iqbal Hall to Melody Chowk, Municipal Road from Markazi Jamia Masjid to Polyclinic Chowk, Luqman Hakeem Road from Polyclinic to Lal Quarters while G-6 service road from G-6/2 Chowk to Lal Quarters Chowk will also remain closed.
