LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader Dr Tahirul Qadri sees a forward bloc emerging against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif within the ruling PML-N.

“The 70-day sit-in the party has organised in Islamabad has given a courage even to the members of the assemblies of the ruling party to come out in the open and talk about the wrong policies of their party… and a ‘Go Nawaz Go’ bloc is now being formed within the PML-N,” a press release issued on Thursday quoted Dr Qadri as saying during a meeting with a delegation of overseas Pakistanis in Canada.

He was also quoted as saying that it was the PAT that taught the people how to protest in a peaceful but effective manner and the same party would take this movement to its logical end.

He said for the first time in the history of the country the government came under pressure and was now talking about giving relief to the poor.

The PAT chief lauded the overseas Pakistanis for desiring to uproot the prevailing ‘cruel and corrupt’ system in Pakistan. He said massive participation of overseas Pakistanis, including intellectuals, scientists, engineers, doctors, teachers and members of the civil society, contributed in every manner in the revolution against the corrupt system.

According to a schedule issued by PAT’s central secretariat, Dr Qadri will address the Pakistani diaspora in New York on Nov 7, in Dallas on the Nov 8 and in Houston on Nov 9.

He will brief the overseas Pakistanis about the 10-point PAT agenda.
