HYDERABAD: Media personnel held a demonstration on Saturday in protest against an attack on two TV journalists when they were working on a story about the office of the manager of Sindh Chief Minister’s Initiative for Hepatitis Prevention and Control Programme.

The protesters led by Hyderabad Press Club president Altaf Koti and secretary Mansoor Mari raised slogans against the attackers and demanded their immediate arrest. They urged the government to ensure protection for journalists.

Awaz TV Hyderabad bureau chief Farooque Tabassum and cameraman Amir Pathan were roughed up by the staff at the office of the manager of CM’s Initiative for Hepatitis Prevention and Control Programme a few days ago when Mr Tabassum was doing a story on the programme.
