Main Hon Shahid Afridi famed actor Noman Habib has been cast in an Indian drama based in the UAE and with the title of Parwaaz. The drama will go on air on Zee TV Middle East from November 8.

Directed by Faheim Inamdar of Uttran fame, the 13 episode long serial is about changing times in the UAE during the 1990s, portraying two men — Sikandar (Noman Habib) from Pakistan and Adarsh from India — who are struggling to make it big in a foreign land. Although the two have been tricked by an employment agency, they strive together and manage to become successful in the two decades since their arrival.

Gulfnews.com has reported that it was arduous for the director to depict the early 1990s in the drama due to fast development of infrastructure in the UAE.

“It’s a challenge to work on a period drama where most of the shoot depicts UAE in the early 1990s," Inamdar told Gulfnews.com.

"Given the massive developments across the UAE year-on-year, it’s very difficult to showcase the past. Extensive research has gone into ensuring that every element in the frame — be it costumes, mobile phones, cars — are all true to the time and age we are trying to showcase. I am very excited about the end result,” he added.

This will be Noman Habib’s first project with an Indian director under Magnum Opus Productions, which is a UAE-based company.

Noman's acting in a recent drama, Bunty I love you alongside the stunning Saba Qamar has been lauded by viewers.
