IHC rejects petition to disqualify PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court (IHC) dismissed on Friday a petition seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Petitioner Waheed Kamal had challenged Nawaz's eligibility through the petition filed under Article 199 of the Constitution.

The petitioner argued before the court that Nawaz has been accused in graft cases, including the Mehran Bank scandal, and had allegedly received Rs3.3million from the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) to destabilise the government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) during the early 1990s.

The scandal, popularly known as Mehrangate, was a major political scandal in the history of Pakistan in 1990-1994 where senior politicians and political parties were accused of receiving millions of rupees from the ISI.

The petitioner; Kamal requested the court to disqualify Nawaz as he was not an honest or a sagacious person.

He also requested the court to disqualify Member National Assembly Jamshed Dasti as he leveled false allegations on the parliamentarians which he could not prove.

Justice Siddiqui dismissed the petition after the preliminary hearing claiming it as non-maintainable.

It is not surprising at all.I.Khan is proven right every time some judiciary decision comes along,whether it is corruption fraud or dishonesty concerning the rulers.In a nut shell ,they are untouchables while they are in power.

Very interesting facts....when NS was not in power no case was moved either by the FIA or any one in mehran case as ordered by SC under ex CJ Ifthekhar sb nor NAB moved against NS cases....petitioning now against these cases will surely invoke immunity as per constitution because he is now PM...similarly, many cases against Zardari sb was opened when he was President, again all were blocked etc; as he was also under immunity as per constitution. So, guys you understand what am I trying to prove....yes, very correct...this is called eye wash for public consumption....that's it. This is a country for the elite only...no justice.....law for the poor only....

Under "Imran Raaj" Imran Khan will be the Raja (Ruler), Qazi Aala (Chief Justice), Mufti Aazam ( Head of all Muftis) and no one including Nawaz Sharif will escape the claws of Great Imran Khan. I will be the last person to ever wish this.

Another cheap tactic of PTI foiled. A case should be brought against Imran Khan for lives lost in Multan Jalsa. Blame is entirely on PTIs poor performance. They kept a gate only for VIPs. Yes the same culture Imran Khan loves to bash yet he too himself lives the VIP lifestyle.

Look who is talking A rep. of the government which doesn't know what her left hand is doing from right. India is the largest country in the region, has centuries old culture, higher education, higher technology, bigger army and on to of everything has largest army in the region. India is spending billions in Afghanistan, Baluchistan and even in Punjab. Pakistan cannot maintain internal law and order, Army is busy fighting internal enemies as police failed to do her duties. I think, the honourable minister need to smell coffee and wake up to reality. India is a regional power and Pakistan has to work with her, no matters waht.
