KARACHI, Sept 3: The Karachi Port Trust has allocated one billion rupees for the improvement of road infrastructure in collaboration with city government under the Rs29 billion Karachi Development Package.

The package was approved by President Musharraf in a meeting, attended by all stakeholders of city, during his last visit to Karachi.

According to an official in the city government, KPT has shown interest in improving M. A. Jinnah Road (from Mazar-i-Quaid to Keamari), I. I. Chundrigar Road, M. T. Khan Road (from PIDC bridge to Jinnah Bridge) and some roads located near the KPT.

There have been two meetings between the city government and KPT over the last four days in this regard whereas more are expected to be held soon to finalize modalities..—PPI
