GWADAR: Two personnel of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and two children were injured in incidents of firing in Panjgur and Gwadar districts on Thursday.

Levies officials said armed men attacked a patrolling team of FWO in Sabaz Aab area of Panjgur district, leaving two personnel injured. The wounded were taken a nearby hospital.

Security personnel launched a search operation in the area after the attack, but no arrest was reported.

Meanwhile, two children of Maqbool Ahmed, a deputy director in the agriculture department at Gwadar, were injured when the FWO personnel opened fire on his vehicle.

Sources said security personnel signalled the deputy director to stop at a checkpost and when he did not they opened fire.

The injured children were taken to the district hospital.

Mr Maqbool along with his family was going from Gwadar to Panjgur to celebrate Eid.
