QUETTA: Three suspected militants were killed and four others arrested after a clash during a search operation launched by the Frontier Corps (FC) in Killi Lop area of Wadh tehsil in Khuzdar district on Sunday night.

According to a spokesman, militants opened fire after FC personnel cordoned off an area around their hideout and three of them were killed when the security men retaliated, while four were arrested.

The killed and arrested men belonged to the banned United Baloch Army and Lashkar-i-Balochistan, he said.

FC personnel seized from their possession three improvised explosive devices, four RPG7 rocket launchers, a China gun, a P22 gun, an ammunition box, TNT blocks, two submachine guns, four magazines, 100 rounds, a telescope, a passport, a laptop, a motorcycle and five mobile phone sets.

The bodies were taken to the Khuzdar Civil Hospital for autopsy.
